The arrest of Shamshul Huda-(ISI) of Pakistan is directly & continuously engaged in trying to destabilize India

The arrest of Shamshul Huda, a Nepalese citizen, has bared the truth. It shows how the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan is directly engaged in the gruesome train accident in Kanpur last year. Huda was given money, material and full training by the ISI to fructify the agency’s plan to derail trains in India.

The arrest of Huda has revealed that he failed to blow up railway tracks in the East Champaran district of Bihar in October last year. What has also come to light is that Huda had been operating through a network based in Pakistan via Dubai.

It was Safi Shah, known as ‘Safi Chacha', who acted as a main conduit for this entire operation, right from Karachi. He is known for supplying fake Indian currency notes from Pakistan, and who had arranged all — starting from travel documents to mediating the meeting with the ISI bosses for Huda.

The purpose behind the shocking saga of activities was none other than the ISI's alleged plans to cause large-scale deaths in India by ‘engineering stampedes, derailment, riots or attacking Government installations'.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has in its report said that Huda was used by Safi in 2013 to transport huge sums of fake Indian currency notes back in 2013-14, when the latter was based in Dubai. It shows he was considered trustworthy for Safi, which further helped him to persuade the Nepalese man to come to terms with the ISI plotters. What more evidence does the international community want to prove the linkage of Huda with the Pakistani state, when the NIA has collected papers showing the transfer of money from Safi's Dubai account to the former's Himalayan Bank account based in Birgang, Nepal?

The derailment of the Indore-Patna Express and the death of more than 145 people caused much uproar and even led to the suspension of several railway officials by the Government.

The Ministry of Railways took swift action and established an immediate inquiry. It is laudable that India's diplomatic channels worked very fast, which persuaded the authorities in Dubai to hand over Huda to Nepal. Media sources say that Huda was arrested in Kathmandu airport and was subsequently grilled by intelligence officials from both Nepal and India.

Only then, the news of his arrest was made public by the Government. Thanks to a friendly Government in Nepal and the Modi Government's reviving of active diplomatic relations with major Governments in West Asia, Huda was nabbed without much fuss.

With his arrest and his expected transfer to the top security agencies of the Indian Government, there should come forth more revelations on the ISI’s role in the Kanpur train tragedy. Organisations such as the NIA must now keep an eye over the new gameplan of the frustrated Pakistani establishment and its agencies and agents. It’s possible that more such tragedies that are being probed in India could have had a Pakistan hand.
